They have even arranged a discount for Lyft rides!
So I am taking my new friends from Constellations out for a spin today at the Adventure Science Center in Nashville. There is a large maker day event with MTRAS and NashMicro and I will be joining them around 1 in the main auditorium – to the left before the ticket counters. This is the free part of the museum.
More official dates will be posted soon!
I have created a brand new interactive audiovisual animation using the Xbox Kinect and there are 6 characters: SunSynth, Glide, Spike, CatEye, FireFly and BlueGhost.
I am finishing up work for a solo show at #UTMartin to open January 31st , 2017. It will feature three large interactive artworks including ConCentrix with Wii Remotes, a new version of FireMic, and an iteration of my #roboticdrum series featuring a floor tom and sound responsive colored light.
I cannot express how excited I am to be selected for a funding award to create temporary public art in Nashville! It is a dream come true! More details to come and if you are interested in having me bring this interactive projection and sound install to your neighborhood or community, please let me know!
I am so excited to be fiscally sponsored by Fractured Atlas! Currently, I am raising funds for “Conversations with Cranes,” a musical composition and interactive video project supported in part by the Puffin Foundation.
I am making field recordings of Cranes at several of their stopover points in the US, recording their calls and capturing video. My composition will feature conversations between these calls and Western and Eastern oboes. There will be an interactive video piece in this series as well.
Your donation towards this work is now tax deductible!
What an amazing honor to meet Dr. Jane Chu this morning!
I was tapped along with three other lucky Learning Lab artists to attend a small meeting this morning with NEA’s Chairman Jane Chu and Ayanna Hudson, the NEA Director of Arts Education. Ann Pope the Executive Director of the Tennessee Arts Commission was there and the discussion was hosted by our amazing Nashville Metro Arts Commission.
Chairman Chu hosted a Town Hall Meeting this afternoon and shared a little more of her personal story as a classical pianist, instrumentalist and artist.
What an inspiring spokesperson for the importance and power of art.
I just received a grant from the Puffin Foundation! It supports a new project that will mix field recordings of Cranes with Eastern and Western oboes, interactions and ultimately visuals. Many thanks for your support of this project Puffin Foundation!
