I finally have a music player online from CD Baby. It is on my new musician FB page and also features Art Ensemble of Chicago member Joseph Jarman and bassist Tatsu Aoki.
Just maybe in time for the holidays???

Yes it’s been a wild week. Free jazz Thursday at a coffee shop with 4 horns and a robotic drum and tonight I’m in formal black again for a festive holiday celebration with Miranda Lambert and the Nashville Symphony. It’s my first time playing with the NSO and I am enjoying it!
Premiere of brand new composition for my trio with Jamison Sevits on trumpet and Jesse Strauss on percussion. Also bringing an expansion of my robotic drummer piece to include trumpet.
excited to open for Jacksonville’s soprano saxophonist and Disney song deconstructionist Jamison Williams.
feature horns include oboe, suona (Chinese oboe), alto and soprano saxes.
Acoustic Show!
Thoughts on this include my oboe, my Suona and/or Vietnamese oboe, possibly my Shenai if I can make another reed…. Soprano Sax, Arduino Drummer and Alto. Not sure I should really carry more than this. Thoughts?

This was a breathtaking installation and my main reason for trying to get to New York this October
Doris Salcedo at the Guggenheim
It was a profound experience to see this work in person.
I love her attitude and that of her studio partners as they work to create the impossible, again and again…and they do.
The deeply layered materials and content of these works remind me of Ai Wei Wei’s. There is the surface, the almost invisible textures and more content than I can begin to describe. It really is poetry in form.
Congratulations to MCA Chicago for curating a phenomenal show.
I was interviewed by Nina Cordona for Nashville Public Radio last week and the interview and article are now online.
WPLN interview with Nina Cordona
I really enjoyed meeting her and this project has been a blast.
Tool Fire Rain sound file coming soon!
I am thrilled to have received a composition commission from the Metro Nashville Arts Commission, the Bonnarroo Works Fund and the Community Foundation of Tennessee.
The call submission dictated creating a new work based on one of our many great public art installations in Nashville, TN. I chose Chris Fennell’s Tool Fire, a sculpture made of shovels, picks and other tools used to clean up after our devastating 2010 flood.
I played the sculpture with mallets and a bow, added bowed cross-tuned upright bass and recorded a rainstorm that came through during my work sessions to create Tool Fire Rain.
