I’m back at the Adventure Science Center this Thursday with a Creative Code demo and Interactive/Participatory Art and Music experiences as part of the Make Music Nashville Festival!

I will be a guest artist with Roger Ruzow’s 4th Ward Afro-Klezmer Orchestra on Wed June 13. It’s been awhile since I have played free jazz and I am really looking forward to it. Roger and I played and recorded together a number of times with Gold Sparkle Band and as a duet back years ago in Atlanta and Chicago.I remember having a lot of fun on live radio as well on WREK. Excited to be joining him!

4WAKO opens for internationally acclaimed percussionist Paal Nilssen-Love and his Large Unit (13 member ensemble)
at Gallery 992 doors open at 8:30p.m.
After intermission Robbie Lynn Hunsinger’s Eclipse was performed. Hunsinger’s work “draws on traditions of free improvisation, Appalachian fiddle techniques, and contemporary classical influences” to create a programmatic collage accompanied by visualizations projected on the screen behind. From the strange instrumentation (music box piano, Tibetan singing bowls) to eerie electronics, the performance was mesmerizing.

chatterbird has commissioned me to write a multimedia chamber music piece. It has been quite the challenge and adventure to write for a small chamber group and also to strictly be a composer (and VJ) this time. I have really enjoyed the work and am looking forward to the premiere on
Thursday December 7, 8pm at Ingram Hall @ Vanderbilt University!

A big thanks to all of you who came out to play with Constellation! It was so much fun watching people dance and twirl and play with this project. It am honored to report that it won a Best of Nashville 2017 award from the Nashville Scene!

I am very excited to be working on my largest orchestration to date. This will be a debut of a multimedia commission with projections for small chamber orchestra.

December 7 concert date at Vanderbilt
So I am taking my new friends from Constellations out for a spin today at the Adventure Science Center in Nashville. There is a large maker day event with MTRAS and NashMicro and I will be joining them around 1 in the main auditorium – to the left before the ticket counters. This is the free part of the museum.

I have created a brand new interactive audiovisual animation using the Xbox Kinect and there are 6 characters: SunSynth, Glide, Spike, CatEye, FireFly and BlueGhost.
I just received a grant from the Puffin Foundation! It supports a new project that will mix field recordings of Cranes with Eastern and Western oboes, interactions and ultimately visuals. Many thanks for your support of this project Puffin Foundation!
