What an amazing honor to meet Dr. Jane Chu this morning!
I was tapped along with three other lucky Learning Lab artists to attend a small meeting this morning with NEA’s Chairman Jane Chu and Ayanna Hudson, the NEA Director of Arts Education. Ann Pope the Executive Director of the Tennessee Arts Commission was there and the discussion was hosted by our amazing Nashville Metro Arts Commission.
Chairman Chu hosted a Town Hall Meeting this afternoon and shared a little more of her personal story as a classical pianist, instrumentalist and artist.

I’m excited to be part of the first Public Art Learning Lab presented by Metro Nashville Arts Commission! I have been interested in creating interactive public art and sound installations for some time.

White sound waves are drawn in real-time across the screen while a pulsing ellipse changes color and shape depending on our performance.
Video is controlled by the musical performance. Roger Wiesmeyer and I play oboe and Missy Raines aka the Cat plays upright bass.
