Written for the CCI Composer Consortium in Brooklyn NY, Catalyst goes from a pensive and spare piano solo with bee footage fading in and out with volume, to an activated tight ensemble piece with pitch and volume responsive animations. The spinning globe is earth-like and explodes and contracts with MaxMSP coding tied to the electronic percussion and also the piano pitches. This was a public reading by Unheard of Ensemble.
