Hunsinger’s duet composition for Arduino, snare drum and motor is a musical and athletic feat. She controls flourishes and beats with an ultrasonic sensor which reads her movements, responding with crescendos, diminuendos or abrupt stops to her slides and leaps – while playing her original Slavic march on the oboe.  Her dark modal march paired with her dance with the drum is a memorable experience!

Hunsinger created an installation version of this project with an added light responsive feature for Visible Sounds, her solo gallery show at University of Tennessee in Martin, TN in early 2017.

This project is also closely related to her acoustic interactive robotic sound sculpture Skitter Flutter which was created for a solo show at Seed Space in 2013.
